It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Essie Melinda Holton of Greensboro, Georgia, born in Pensacola, Florida, who passed away on November 30, 2022, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Willie Mitchell; her husband Freeman Holton; and her brothers, Melvin Straughn and James Straughn. She is survived by: her children, Kimberly Holton of Greensboro, GA and Will Holton (Cheryl) of Pensacola, FL; her goddaughters, Joann Richardson "Starlight" and Jackie Williams; her grandchildren, Raymond Maynard, Trinity Craig, Nevaeh Craig, Kaylah Holton, Jaylyn Holton, Alexah Holton, Aalayah Holton, Zackyah Holton, My'Leah Holton, Devin Jones (Caitlyn Baker), Marcus Jones, Jamel Walker, Jasmine Williams, Chloe Williams and Devan Williams (DJ); her great grandchildren, Elijah Jones and Nevaeh Jones; and her sisters, Lenora Houston, Evelyn Rooke and Sheila Houston. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
