He was predeceased by: his parent Clifton Payne; and his siblings, Ellis Payne, Coy Payne, Lois Rainey and Doris Moon.

He is survived by: his parent Linnie Smith Payne; his daughters, LuAnn Clark (Morgan) of Eatonton, GA and Connie Callaway (Jerry) of Greensboro, GA; his grandchildren, Bobby Clark, Allison Clark and Julie Callaway; his great grandchildren, Susan Hart (Adam) and Abby Manders; and his siblings, Clara Payne Hopkins of Greensboro, GA, Marie Whitley, Leonard Payne (Edith) of Lake Charles, LA and Mike Payne (Terri) of Hull, GA. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
