Misti Hewatt Yang Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Misti Hewatt Yang (Grayson, Georgia), born in Atlanta, Georgia, who passed away on March 23, 2023 at the age of 44. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She is survived by: her husband Robert "Bobby" Tinshon Yang of Nashville, TN; her parents, Joanne Brooks Hewatt (Greg Bell) of Grayson, GA and Franklin "Frankie" Thomas Hewatt; her stepmother Janice Stowe Hewatt of Monroe, GA; and her sister Shanda Hewatt Wread of Augusta, GA. She is also survived by extended family including numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers family is working with the Department of Communication at the University of Maryland, where Misti earned her doctoral degree, to appropriately memorialize her leadership and community-building in the department.
