He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hillyer Young and Elizabeth Fletcher Thornton. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Ann Beck Thornton of Gray; his children, Debbie Beck, Jay Beck, Wanda Crutchfield, Patti Beck and Jeanie Dent; and his siblings, George Thornton, Mary White and Sara Morris. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
