He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Carl Sumner and Hattie Long Sumner; his former wife Sandra B. Sumner; his son Kevin Jerome Sumner; his son-in-law Scott Clements; his grandson Jason Cohen Sumner; and his siblings, Edmond, Lewis, Amos, Carl Jr. and Margaret Wells.
He is survived by: his wife Diane; his daughter Karen Clements Smith (Woody); his grandchildren, Kristen Graham (Caleb), Brandon Clements (Katie), Trent Smith and Tobe Smith; his son Kenneth Sumner (Natalie); his grandchildren, Braden, Samuel and Lena; his son Jesse Annis (Christie); his granddaughter Anna; his daughter Ashley Mizell (Will); and his grandchildren, Wilhoit and Johnnie. He is also survived by loving father to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
