With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Marvin D Mathis (Gray, Georgia), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Marvin left this world on March 15, 2025 at the age of 81, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parent Bobbie Lee Cranford Mathis of Bleckley County, Georgia.; and his siblings, James Calvin Mathis and Shirley Jeanne Evans. He is survived by: his wife Shirley; and his children, Maria Lana Johnston (David), Brandi Barfield (Stephen), Rhonda Palmer (John), Amy Sims (Joey), Toby Lane Mathis and Darren Hayes (Calynn). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Central Baptist Church (3209 Graham Rd, Gray, GA 31032). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, Marvin asks that donations be made to the Benevolence Fund at Central Baptist Church PO Box 187 Gray, Ga. 31032.
