It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bennie Freeman Goolsby Sr. of Gray, Georgia, who passed away on March 28, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Harrison Goolsby and Sudie Freeman Goolsby; his former wife Madelyn Swindle Goolsby; and his children, Bennie Freeman Goolsby, Jr., Sudye Goolsby Hammons and Michael Howard Goolsby.
He is survived by: his significant other Mary Etta Heath; his daughter Brenda Chapman; his grandson Aaron Hammons; and his great grandchildren, Ryker and William Hammons.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hart's Mortuary Jones County Chapel (307 Pecan Ln, Gray, GA 31032). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at the Sunshine Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Sunshine Methodist Church Cemetery in Round Oak, Georgia, in honor of Bennie Goolsby.
