He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Matthews Sr. and Cora Matthews; his wife Lydia Matthews; and his siblings, Emma Benning (Charles), James (Mattie) and Fred (Arlena).
He is survived by: his children, Richard (Carol), Jimmy, Danny (Wife), Stevie (Kate), Angela (Barron) and Alisa (Gerald); his grandchildren, Tineshia, Tirell, Tisheyia, Danielle, Dee, Deontae, Latoya, Deshun, Monique, Daniel, Isabella and Lydia; and his great grandchildren, Aariyanna, Jayden, Jordyn, Skylar, Leya and Jonas.
Due to COVID-19 concerns everyone in attendance at the Graveside and the public viewing must wear a mask and social distancing is encouraged.
