She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Thornton and Bessie Thornton; her siblings, Robert, James Thornton and Mary Ann Heard; her grandson Kendriun Owens; and her parents-in-law, Lorene Owens and McKinley Colton.
She is survived by: her husband Mack Arthur Owens; her sons, Michael, Ronald, McKinley and Derrick Owens (Carla); her grandchildren, Zharia Huling, Derrick Tremetrius Owens, Kortavious Hardy, Travon Hardy and Joshua Marshall; her great grandchildren, Zayden Huling and Zyler Huling; her siblings, Samuel "Henry Sam" Thornton, Thomas Thornton (Dorothy), Curtis Thornton, Mattie Rosser (John), Eula Nesbitt and Ollie Parks; and her stepmother Eleanor Colton. She is also survived by nieces, nephew, cousins and other relatives and friends.
