It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melea Cook (Gordon, Georgia), born in Dalton, Georgia, who passed away on September 3, 2021, at the age of 42, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her great-grandparents, O'Dell, Lillie West, Andrew, Leona Sutherland, Luther, Annie Rosson, Bryan and Grace Stamey; and her grandparents, A. B., Peggy Sutherland and Ray Stamey.

She is survived by: her husband Mickey Cook; her parents, Mike Stamey and Myra Sutherland Stamey; her grandmother Lena Stamey; her brother Matthew Stamey (Tiffany); her niece Brooklyn Stamey; and her stepson Dustin Cook. She is also survived by many other relatives and close friends.

The family requests that instead of flowers, donations in Melea's memory be made to the Heard County Livestock Show.
