He was predeceased by: his siblings, Sherby Adkins and Massie Jackson Adkins; and his parents, Clinton Adkins and Massie Adkins. He is survived by: his wife Betty Adkins; his children, Alan Scott (Dalonega), Jeff Scott (Cindy) of Ellijay, Laura Layfield (Danny) of Milledgeville, Julie Reyes (Manuel) of Chesterfield, VA, Andy Adkins (Julie) of Winder, Cody Adkins of Hawkinsville, Jarvis Adkins of Milledgeville and Desiree Adkins of Chesterfield, VA; his grandchildren, Kenny, Tionna, David, Kirsten, Nikki, Sarah, Danielle, Kale and Kileigh; his great grandchildren, William, Isaiah and Kaeden; and his sister Shirley McCook of Macon.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
