It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Mathis of Good Hope, Georgia, who passed away on May 8, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Mathis of Washington and Mary Eliza Mathis (Bennett); his former wife Evelyn Mathis (Snowdell); and his children, Earl Thomas Mathis and Evelyn Marie Etchison.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Wilkerson Mathis of Good Hope, GA; his children, Brenda Gail Holbrook of Winder, GA, David Jackson Mathis (Shirley) of Good Hope, GA, Ricky Jo Mathis (Linda) of Milledgeville, GA, George Thomas Mathis of Good Hope, GA and Barbara Sue Criswell (Verlyn) of Good Hope, GA; and his sister Brenda Marie Sexton (Ricky) of Winder, GA.. He is also survived by grand-children, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
