He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Wohnhas Carey and Paul Raymond Carey; his grandson Curtis J. Baker; and his brother-in-law John O. Truitt. He is survived by: his wife Harriet Helen Hammers Carey; his children, Paul Richard Carey (Betty) of Kentucky, Diane Brost (Billy) of Utah and Tomoko Mathis (James) of Texas; his granddaughter Christy Ray (Nick) of Claxton; his brother Richard Carey of West Virginia; and his sister-in-law Nancy Truitt of Florida. He is also survived by several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
