He was predeceased by: his parents, Artis Bruce and Lelia Vaughters Bruce; and his brother Edwin Bruce. He is survived by: his wife Carol Grant Bruce; his children, Karen Martinez and Steve Bruce; his grandchildren, Dylan, Isabelle Bruce, Alex Bruce, Cameron Bruce, Atiana Martinez and Alaina Martinez; his sister June; his brother-in-law Buster Samples; his brother Jimmy; and his sister-in-law Wanda Bruce.
