He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Massey and Willie Ruth Powers Massey; his sons, Greg Massey and Tony Massey; and his siblings, Charlie Lee Massey and Elaine M. Baker.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hopper Massey; his children, Jason Massey and Charlotte Massey Holland; his daughter-in-law Christy Massey; and his sister Margie Adkins. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
