He was predeceased by: his parents, George Evan and Johnnie Whitfield Beard Ellis; and his siblings, George W., John E., Loren D., Thomas, Robert A., Seab J., William E., Effie, Eva, Ileane, Nora, Florine and Norene.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann Jones Ellis; his sons, Jimmy W. Ellis of Georgetown, Jeff A. Ellis (Tammy) of Northport and Russell E. Ellis (Trudy) of Dothan, Alabama; his grandchildren, Emily Ellis, Lindsey Ellis, Trent Fondren and Tyler Fondren; and his caregiver Bernice Harris. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
