She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Oglesby and Audrey Kay Oglesby; her brother Dr. John Ell; and her siblings-in-law, Robbie Nell Hendley and Derrell Hendley.

She is survived by: her husband James O "Jimmy" Cowart of Garfield; her sons, James O "Jim" Cowart (Sondra) of Garfield and Mitchell Cowart (Janice) of Garfield; her grandchildren, Zach Cowart (Katie) and Abigail Cowart (Ty Hutson); her great grandchild Annie Caroline Cowart; and her sister-in-law Janice Hendley of Garfield.
