She was predeceased by: her significant other John Harry Gay, Jr.; her mother Essie Mae Boatright Sutton; her brother William Waltmon Harrington of Monroe, Louisiana.; and her stepparents, Claude E. Sutton and Jennie Maggio Harrington.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cynthia Gay Bragg of Waynesboro, Nancy Gay Crawford (Carter) of Sylvania, Kathy Gay Lee (Chris) of Millen, Sarah Jane Gay Odiorne (Walter) of Blythewood, SC and Johnna Gay Lee (Jon) of Garfield; her sister Claire Sutton Diffenderfer (Buddy) of Charleston, SC; her sister-in-law Nell Pardue Gay of Savannah, GA; and her grandsons, J. J. Crawford, Ley Crawford, Clark Crawford, Tres Bragg, Cal Lee, Kade Lee, Keller Lee and Wes Lee. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
