He is survived by: his parent Rubin Thomas; his spouse Veola Hughey; his sisters, Ruby Daugherty, Rosemary Hamm and Carol Thomas; his stepson Apostle Roderick L. Hughey, Sr. (Velmeka); his sisters-in-law, Mary Thomas and Eloise Thomas; his children, Michael, Tracey Thomas, Cheryl Brown (O'Brien), Fennis Bailey (Crawford) and Angela McKinley (Wayne); his siblings, Henry Thomas, Theris Thomas (Toxi) and Belinda Haynes (Rick); his sister-in-law Maria Lewis; and his stepchildren, Jeffrey Malone, Hattie Malone and Lorraine Parks. He is also survived by Twenty-nine grandchildren; Twenty-five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, extended family, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 27th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wimberly Funeral Home (325 Summit St SE, Gainesville, GA 30501). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 28th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Church of Life (6700 Lookout Ct, Lula, GA 30554).
