He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph C. Whitmire and Estelle Hulsey Whitmire; his wife Janette Whitmire; his brother Jimmy Whitmire; and his uncle James Hulsey.

He is survived by: his daughter Cindy D. Whitmire of Gainesville; his sisters, Gloria Whitmire of Gainesville and Jeanette Kesler of Oakwood; and his siblings-in-law, Doug and Linda Wayne of Tiger. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 3650 Browns Bridge Road, Gainesville, GA 30504.
