He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Edward Smallwood and Judy Elaine Williams Carlan; his children, Sam T. Fagan and Rebekah Jo Smallwood; and his brothers, Daryl Preston Smallwood, Stephen Lee Smallwood and Mitchell Dale Smallwood.
He is survived by: his fiancé Billie Jo "B. J."; his children, Nevaeh Starr Smallwood of Gainesville and Cody Preston Brown of Dahlonega; his sister Angelia; his brother-in-law Terry Willard of Union, SC; his siblings, Jeryle Edward Smallwood of Union, SC, Donald (Lisa Smallwood), Virgil (Ami Smallwood), David (Stephanie Smallwood) and Tiffany Smallwood of Gainesville; and his pet Koa. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
