We are sad to announce that on February 5, 2023, at the age of 83, Tommy Carlton Whelchel of Gainesville, Georgia passed away. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Whelchel and Cassie Chapman Whelchel; his daughter Ginger Leah Whelchel; and his siblings, Buster Ray Whelchel, Leroy Whelchel, Dennis Troy Whelchel, Perry Claude Whelchel, Robbie Stephens, Inez Thurmond, Dortha Roper and Louise Clark.

He is survived by: his wife June Clark Whelchel of Gainesville; his daughter Stacy Whelchel Louis; his son-in-law Alan Louis of Hall County; his granddaughters, Ansley and Ryleigh Louis; and his sister Evelyn Brock of Gillsville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
