She was predeceased by: her parents, D. A. Solesbee (Doc) and Anna Matilda Guffie Solesbee; and her brother Donald Solesbee. She is survived by: her husband Tommy R. Pitchford; her children, Tim (Marie Merck), Sundi (Ricky Dyer), Clermont and Lori (Lowell Whitmire); her grandchildren, Peyton Merck, Tanner Merck, Trace Merck, Keely Merck, Matti Dyer, Taylor, Hanna Whitmire and Charlie Whitmire; her great grandchild Archer Whitmire; her stepchildren, Sharon Roper, Richard Pitchford and Debra Britto; her siblings, Johnny (Susie Solesbee), Clayton and Polly; and her brother-in-law Art Gunter.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions please be made to the Ronnie Green Heart Center at Northeast Georgia Medical Center or the Breast Cancer Foundation in memory of Shirley.
