She was predeceased by: her parents, John Chambers and Winnie Mae Wilson Chambers; her husband Melvin Leon Simmons; her children, Vern Simmons and Cathy Hancock; and her siblings, Richard Chambers, Guy Chambers, Louella Martin and Pat Sullens.
She is survived by: her daughter Sheryl Bruce of Gainesville; her grandchildren, Allen Head (Shannon), Amanda Head, James Hancock (Courtney) and Amber Hancock; and her sisters, Maxine Sullens of Gainesville and Cathy Jarrard of Gainesville. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
