She was predeceased by: her parents, Garnett Adams and Bessie Mathis Adams. She is survived by: her children, Melinda Cheryl Hawkins and John Hawkins (Karen); her grandchildren, Chris Hawkins, Kevin Hawkins (Snow), Ashley Robinson (Kurtis), Amy Schutt, Abigail Chesnut (Johnny) and Russell Chesnut (Ivy); her siblings, Jeannie Dempsey (David), Sara Ann Turner, Pearly Mae Score (Dave), Lucy Ogden (Floyd), Ruby Watson, JC Adams (Rosie) and Johnny Adams; her brother-in-law Carlton Sears; her son Jeffery Hawkins; her sisters, Minnie Lee Sorrow, Eider Bell Sears, Willie Mae Farmer and Patricia Scarbrough; and her half-brother William Adams.
