He was predeceased by: his parents, Inman C. Smith and Gladys O'Neal Smith; his wife Vivian Harrison Smith; his siblings, Louise Cook and Warren "Whitey" Smith; and his stepdaughter Tracey Lawton.
He is survived by: his children, Rolann Smith, Roland "Chip" (Debra Smith), George (Becky Smith), Gene (Regina Smith) and Gary (Denise Smith); his grandchildren, Justin (Christy Smith), Brittany (Matthew Bonds), Brandon (Laura Smith) and Geremy (Nicole Sexton); his great grandchildren, Ella Smith, Harper Smith, Grant Smith, Evie Bonds, Ensley Bonds, Emrie Bonds, Kate Smith, Alex Sexton and Drake Sexton; his stepson Mark Lawton; and his grandchildren, Paige Lawton, Grace Lawton, Audrey Lawton and Lucia Lawton.
