He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Clinton and Laura Yvonne Simmons; and his parents-in-law, Billy and Robbie Stevens. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Simmons of Gainesville; his son Jason; his daughter-in-law Julie Simmons; his siblings, Randy Simmons of Pendergrass, Ronald, Renee Simmons of Horton, Rena and Ransom Ash of Dahlonega; and his grandchildren, Branson Simmons and Sadie Simmons.
