He was predeceased by: his mother Mattie Mae Abercrombie Scott; his wife Barbara Chambers Abercrombie; his daughter Rhonda Adams; and his siblings, Jeanette Grindle, George Floyd and Charles Tony Floyd.
He is survived by: his son Richard Jr.; his daughter-in-law Joey Abercrombie of Cornelia; his grandchildren, Bailey Abercrombie, Kendal Abercrombie, Travis, Makayla Adams and Sydney Linton; and his siblings, Judy Sanders, David Floyd and Ralph Paul. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.
