He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus R. Godfrey and Vara Norton Godfrey; and his sisters, Mary Nell Glass and Annie Kate "Kit" Hurst. He is survived by: his wife Genelda V. Godfrey of Gainesville, GA; his children, Gretchen G. Howland (John) of Woodstock, GA and Richard F. Godfrey, Jr. (Kathy) of Braselton, GA; his granddaughter Alicia Marshall (Kyle) of Atlanta, GA; his great grandchildren, Levi Marshall and Luke Marshall; his grandchildren, Andrew Howland of Woodstock, GA. and Ivy Martin (Matthew) of Gainesville, GA; his great grandchild Theo Martin; and his grandson Cory Godfrey of Canton, GA..
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions please be made to the National Parks Conservation Association or a charity of one's choice in memory of Mr. Godfrey.
