He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Ann Carlton Patterson; his children, Ann Luther (Randy) of Nashville, TN and Roger Patterson (Faith) of Pittsboro, NC; his granddaughters, Renee Leonard (Joel) of Greensboro, NC and Beth Mellott (Lane) of Pittsboro, NC; his great grandchildren, Evelyn Leonard, Charlotte Leonard, Lacey Mellott and Hannah Mellott; his siblings, O. B. Patterson, Jr. (Ann) of Toccoa, GA and Kathryn Steele (Thomas) of Toccoa, GA; and his sister-in-law Gail DuVall (Dan) of Cleveland, GA..
