He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcus Tate and Pearl Tate of Elberton, GA.; his wife Emma Sue Allen Edmond; his siblings, Roberta Edmond Tate, Lurman Edmond, Rozell Luvenia Edmond Hardaway (Thomas Jefferson), Sam Edmond (Annie Laura Moon) and Robert Clarence Edmond; and his grandson Claude Fortson, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Claude Fortson (Shelia), Paul Edmond, Jr. (Dorothy), Terry Edmond (Phyllis), Darrell Edmond, Belverly Ann Bowden (Morris), Cathy Edmond and Gloria Wilms; his sister-in-law Kathleen Goddard; his cousin Earlene Tate Thompson; and his grandchildren, Corey, Tasha, Felicia, Ronald, LaShunda, Jillian and Brittney. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and devoted friends.
