He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Alexander Bell and Lillie Bell Bell (Adams); his brother Leslie Owen Bell; his brother-in-law James W. Rowan; and his close friend Christi Keith Nation.

He is survived by: his sister Beverly Bell Rowan; his aunt Tempa Ruth Truelove; and his cousins, Ronnie, Stevie and Charles Truelove.
