He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie McGowan and Eva McGowan; his brother Jesse McGowan; his former wives, Evelyn Cox and Louise Elizabeth Westbrook; his daughter Mary Elizabeth McGowan; his son-in-law Randall Walter Spooner; his sisters, Nina Lou McGowan Shurer and Mavis; his brother-in-law Earl Alder; his sister Lucille; his siblings-in-law, Frank Diener, Alice Flye McGowan and Raymond Brock; and his niece Susan Brock.
He is survived by: his wife Reba McGowan; his siblings, Irene Brock and Rev. Charles McGowan; his daughter Julie; his son-in-law Kenny Akins of Lula; his sons, Jesse L. McGowan of Chattanooga and Rev. Kennedy McGowan; his daughter-in-law Dr. Chantal Gagnon; his daughters, Anna Louise McGowan and Rev. Rebecca McGowan Spooner (Becky) of Conway, Arkansas; his daughter-in-law Nancy Gann of Eastover; his stepchildren, Ward Gann (Ellen Gann), Susan Gann Stringer of Gainesville and Karrie; his son-in-law Ben Rounsaville of Sherwood, Arkansas.; and his grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Markovich of Gainesville, Colton Clark of Jacksonville, Florida and Patrick McGowan of Plantation, Florida. He is also survived by many step-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
