She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Whitmire and Clara Mae Smith Whitmire; and her husband Gerald Roper. She is survived by: her son Lee; her daughter-in-law Christy Watkins of Dahlonega; her brother Garnett; her sister-in-law Margaret Whitmire of Gainesville; and her nephew Bill (Bobbie Davidson) of Gainesville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and other close relatives.
