She was predeceased by: her parent Jewell Slaton; and her brother Joe Slaton. She is survived by: her husband Wayne Garrett; her daughters, Denise (Leon Grizzle) and Paula Garrett; her grandchildren, Cory, Suzanne Parks, Megan and Kyle Durant; her brother Glenn; and her sister-in-law Diane Slaton.
