He was predeceased by: his parents, Doris Thompson and Victor Salmon. He is survived by: his daughters, Heather Salmon, Tracy Salmon-Cummings and Yolondo Salmon-Thomas; his son-in-law Rayon Thomas; his grandchildren, Delloy Willis, Craigh Powell, Orville Perrier Hailey Perrier, Royale Cummings, Genesis Thomas, Rashane Wilson, Nathan Turland, Taneisha Whyte and Lamar Walters; his siblings, Myles of Texas, Renford Salmon, Beverly Salmon and Gloria Salmon; and his stepchildren, Tamar McCoy and Terrick Smith. He is also survived by loving father to his children and grandchildren, called "dada" by his daughters.
