We are sad to announce that on December 13, 2021, James Simpson of Gainesville, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Edward Simpson and Lillian Freeman Simpson Lancaster; his stepfather Ray Lancaster; his brother Jeffery Simpson, Sr.; and his grandson Grover Howell Simpson.
He is survived by: his wife Betty L. Simpson of Gainesville; his children, Gus (Elizabeth Simpson) of Gainesville, Greg (Joy Simpson) of Gainesville, Christopher Daniel "Danny" of Gainesville, Christy Simpson (Payne) of Gainesville and Angie Simpson of Gainesville; his stepdaughter Crystal Hall of Toccoa; his grandchildren, Shawn, Alicia Simpson, James L., Emma Simpson, Caleb Simpson, Cory Simpson, Hanna, Taylor Whitmire, Haley Simpson of Brandon, Ashton Simpson, Luke Payne, Kyle Payne, Kelsy Payne, Katie Payne and Troy Payne; his siblings, Linda S. (Franklin Harrison), Virginia Simpson of Commerce and Glenn Jones of Dahlonega; and the mother of his children Sybil Simpson of Gainesville. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to New Hope Kingdom, 1423 Brewers Bridge Rd, Elberton, GA 30635, which was a very important charity to Mr. Simpson, or to the charity of your choice.
