He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Mathis, Sr. and Frances Miller Mathis; his former wife Kathryn Reeves Mathis; and his brother Philip Mathis. He is survived by: his wife Robin Mathis; his brother Gregory Mathis (Sally); and his sister-in-law Sue Mathis.
