With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Donald Stephens of Gainesville, Georgia, born in Lula, Georgia, who passed away on September 8, 2022 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Charity Armour; his stepfather Ernest Armour; and his siblings, Edward Stephens (Janet) and Virginia Dorsey (Henry). He is survived by: his children, Michael James Stephens (Allen Caldwell) of Douglasville and Beth Stephens Walmsley of Gainesville; his grandson Alex Walmsley of Athens; and his caregivers, Janet, Linda, Teresa, Wendi, Jen and Kendra. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.
The family has requested those who desire to donate in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) Foundation, Clermont Lions Club or any other charity of your choice.
