He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilbert Vincent and Dorothy Rohl Kiesel; and his sons, Hilbert Donald Kiesel Jr. and Ryan Christopher Kiesel. He is survived by: his wife Alene Prevatt Kiesel of Gainesville; his children, Jarrett Kiesel (Kim) of Flowery Branch and Shannon Dorsey (David) of Gainesville; his grandchildren, Connor, Vince, Will Kiesel, Georgia, Baron and Grace Dorsey; and his brother Tom Kiesel (Ruth). He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
