With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Henry Odes Shope of Gainesville, Georgia, born in Dahlonega, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 15, 2024 at the age of 91. He was predeceased by: his parents, Miles Wrestel and Annie Sue Byers Shope; and his wife Evelyn Shope. He is survived by: his children, Johanna "Jo" Jones of Gillsville and Michael "Mike"; his daughter-in-law Perci Shope of Dunwoody'; his grandchildren, Adrian, Synthia Jones, Megan, Aaron McCollum, Kelton Shope and Jenica Shope; his great grandchildren, Beckham Jones, Carsyn Jones and Hammond McCollum; his brothers, Clarence Shope of Nicholson and Jim; his sister-in-law Carol Shope of Gainesville; his sister Martha; his brother-in-law David Dougherty of Gainesville; and his sister Bernice Payne of Murrayville. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
