He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Swilling Propes and Gertrude Moore Propes; and his siblings, Paul Propes, Jr. (Eloise), Louis Propes (Wilma) and Sara Propes Smallwood (Horace).

He is survived by: his wife Connie Peebles Howard Propes; his sons, Harry Moore Propes, Jr. (Bubba) and Matthew Timothy Propes (Rebecca) of Gilbert, AZ; his stepson Philip Sterling Howard (Lynn); and his sister Charlotte Propes Baker (Ron) of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by grandsons, nieces, nephews and cousins.
