With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gypsy Lane Smith of Gainesville, Georgia, born in Porterdale, Georgia, who passed away on February 12, 2022 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his brothers, Charles Smith and Lamar Smith; and his parents, Calvin Smith and Ruby Jewell Lane Smith. He is survived by: his wife Betty Sockwell Smith; his daughter Melissa Sockwell Bollinger (Tim) of Clermont, Georgia; his grandsons, Kade Bollinger (McKenzie) and Ethan Bollinger of Clermont, Georgia.; his nephew Phil Smith (Regina); his nieces, Becky Chapman and Bonnie Smith; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ross Smith (Becky), Wes Smith, Matthew Chapman (Caroline) and Kelley Ann Chapman (Vini Bessa). He is also survived by many relatives and friends.
If you are sick, not feeling well, or have any symptoms of COVID 19, please do not attend the service or services. If you feel the need to wear a mask, please do so.
