Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Grace Evelyn Matthews of Gainesville, Georgia, who passed away at the age of 99, on December 13, 2024. She was predeceased by: her parents, George "Lum" Murphy and Mamie Lyles Murphy; her husband Lloyd A. Matthews; her brothers, Otis Murphy, Herb Murphy and Russell Murphy; her children, Patricia "Patsy" Abernathy, Tony C. Matthews and Christopher Todd Matthews; and her grandson Craig Pierce.
She is survived by: her children, Lloyd A. Matthews, Jr. (Janet), Evelyn Strickland (Randy Strickland) and Peggy Pierce (Stanley); her daughter-in-law Cindy Matthews of Clarkesville; her brother Jake Murphy of Talmo; and her grandchildren, Christopher Strickland, Kelly Johnson, Brittani Conner, Michael Blake Matthews, Parker Matthews and Peyton DeLay. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Memorial Park Funeral Home (2030 Memorial Park Dr, Gainesville, GA 30504). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Memorial Park (2030 Memorial Park Dr, Gainesville, GA 30504).
