With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Evelyn Hope Smith of Gainesville, Georgia, who passed away on August 1, 2021 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her former husband Joseph Carlton "J. C."; her parents, Jerry Hope and Inez Dean Hope of Gainesville, GA.; and her siblings, Jack Hope, W. A. Hope, Robert Lee Hope, Charles Hope, Francis Hope Kerns, Betty Hope Sanders, Mary Ann Hope Kendall, George Hope, Billy Hope and Janie Hope Milner.
She is survived by: her husband Appalachian; her son Joseph Anthony "Tony" Smith (Nandel) of Anderson; her siblings, Dr. Jimmy Hope (Judy) of Gainesville, GA and Ethel Paige of Gainesville, GA; her sisters-in-law, Lois Hope (George) and Barbara Hope (Billy) of Gainesville, GA.; and her close friend Terry Coleman.
