He is survived by: his wife Betty Harrison Childs of Gainesville; his children, Christopher Childs (Teresa) of Gainesville, Kenny Childs (Micky) of Gainesville and Allison Turk (Jesse) of Dahlonega; his grandchildren, A. J. Berry, Danielle Berry, Finn Childs, Amelia Turk and Elijah Turk; his cousin Janice Cobb (Gene) of Gainesville; and his sister-in-law Barbara Polsfuss. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
