He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thomas and Ruth King Chastain; and his sister Peggy Stephens. He is survived by: his children, Lisa Bruce of Buford, GA, Jaine (David Adams), Jessica Chasteen (Robert) and Margaret (James Risner); his grandchildren, Kelsey Bruce, Bryson Slade, Haley Adams and Brielle Slade; his sister Edith; his brother-in-law Dan Turpin of Lavonia, GA; his brothers, Tommy (Cheryl Chasteen) and Jerry Chasteen; and his stepdaughter Rebecca Etheridge of Conyers, GA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
