He is survived by: his wife Ché Tabor-Richardson; his sons, Don Richardson Jr. and Deshaun Watson; his stepsons, Rhondo Robinson and Donté Raye; his daughters, Leondra Williams, LaToya Maxey (Shakim) and Keshia Buffington; his grandchildren, Oriah Ware, Cenareous Goss, Dazaria, Dyterious Randolph, Ja'Kim Maxey, Mesyah, Xyan Buffington, Jamere, Jeremih Richardson and Dontavian Strickland; his siblings, Toni Lyles (Johnny), Debra Jefferies (Robert), Clifford Richardson (Joanne) and Perry Richardson; and his aunts, Desser Earls and Almeria Richardson. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, in-laws and dear friends.

He was known for his generosity, consistently donating food and clothing to local family shelters and offering vital support, such as providing water to the fire and police departments in his area.
