He is survived by: his wife Lucile Fortuna Carter; his children, Dee Ann Benton (David) of Gainesville, Steve Carter of Gainesville and Doug Carter (Sandy) of Gainesville; his grandchildren, Laura Lane Louie (Thomas) of Greenville, SC, Mark Benton (Lindsey) of Ann Arbor, MI and Lauren Carter of Los Angeles, CA; and his great grandchildren, Ann Carter Louie, Camille Louie, Emmie Benton and Kate Benton.
