He was predeceased by: his parents, David Boone Roper and Ruby Pinson Roper; and his wife Norma Jarrard Roper. He is survived by: his son-in-law Daniel O'Neal Carter; his brother-in-law Billy James Martin; his children, Donise Roper Carter of Lilburn and David Donald Roper Jr. (Darrell Mercer) of Atlanta; his grandchildren, David O'Neal Carter (Brittany) of Loganville and Lauren Roxane Carter (Kristie Workman) of Smyrna, GA.; his great grandchildren, Dylan O'Neal Carter of Loganville and Daniel Bryce Carter-Workman of Smyrna, GA.; his sister-in-law Margaret Jarrard Martin of Gainesville; his nephew Wesley Eugene Martin (Greta) of Gainesville; and his niece Angela Martin Massengill (Nick) of Marietta. He is also survived by many other great-nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
